Win XP Pro

This is a strange one. Never had this happen. After I restart my PC, I login and my settings are all different. By this I mean: wallpaper and desktop are completely different. I can still access my folders and private folders. I then reboot again and everything is fine. Has this happened to anyone else? If so were you able to fix it? Thanks for any help.

could be a policy setting, could be permission rights, could be a corrupt SID,,,,

I get the same thing sometimes. I use custom themes and after a reboot it will keep the cusom colors, but all the effects are gone along with my wallpaper. It's been doing that for a while.

I pay no attention to it though, as everything else works.

there should be a setting (either in "user accounts" or in "my network places" somewhere) that says "all users have the same settings" or something, if this is checked uncheck it
