Win XP network bridge problem

I've recently purchased a server (and madden 2004 with the internet adapter!) and tried to hook them all up with a wireless router. Unfortunately, when I try to engage the network wizard, it shows that I have a "network cable unplugged". There's nothing unplugged. Underneath the network cable unplugged message it also shows "MAC bridge miniport".
I'm running XP Pro on both my computer and the server. The server runs fine but the problem lies with the pc. I somehow think the ethernet connection contains the problem.

Any ideas as to what approach I could take? Thanks for your help!!
