XP Home is IMHO as good as pro... They have the same core. If you need strict-windows2000 file-permissions, then yeah pro is the only real option. Heck, XP Home has remote desktop too!!

currently looking at a litescribe drive at staples, due to its ability to label the CD shortly after being burned.

I will say it this way

If you think ME is the same as W2K or W2K Pro.... then get XP Home.

IMO, it is worth the little extra money divided over the months/years you have it.

I will never install a home edition.

You have two choices, Home or Pro....
Nobody says NOT to go with Pro, but there are plenty of people who say don't go with Home.

Remember, it is MS so details are not the strong, main point... as to explain why you should pick one over the other.

Meaning, you will ALWAYS have people who say, " I have home and nothing ever has gone wrong".

It is about percentages and chances.... So I would say, you are more likely to have problems with Home than Pro.

THERE.. Clear as Mud!
