Default Win xp annoying little problem

Ok we had a thunder storm and powercut while i was on the pc, when i loaded it back up straight after the power was back on(literally 10seconds) the task bar keeps dissapearing and when i put my mouse near it it pops back up? its set to "lock toolbar" but it doesnt make a difference

Is auto hide the toolbar selected?

Thanks but i investigate abit further AFTER i posted this and realised it was on auto hide(which i must have selected by accident prior to the powercut but didnt notice) so yeah its sorted now.
