win 2000 error with ms dos programs

HELP!!!!! win 2000 error with ms dos programs

Hey yall whenever i try to install games such as halflife or other older games i get this message.

16 bit windows sub system
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the files system is not suitable for running msdos and microsoft windows aplications. Choose close to terminate that application.

is there any sugestions on how to fix this.
