Why does my "C" drive keep filling up so quickly?

Hi!
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit about 4 months ago on a 180 GB Intel 520.

After installation and a few programs, there was only 30 GB's of storage used.

I keep noticing the drive becoming more and more full even though I rarely put anything on "C" drive [I have a 3TB HDD for all storage].

Why would my dedicated "C" drive continue to fill so rapidly?

Today, I have only 73 GB free out of the listed 167 GB.

This is so strange for me.

What do you use to clean it? (I.E. - ccleaner, wise, etc...)

Do you have your browsers set to clean itself upon closing, or do you have to do it manually?

Intel has a program that checks the SSD and it always tells me everything is good to go every time I run the disk check.

What do you use to clean it? (I.E. - ccleaner, wise, etc...)

I clean the browsers with CCleaner, Norton 360 v.7, Glary Utilities, and some times I also run Malware Bytes.

What else can I be missing here?

Run WinDirStat and see what directory or directories are taking up all the space:

I knew I was forgetting something. Been a while since I used it though...


edit: Mine was 4GB worth of hibernation files; and since I don't hibernate... They went by-by.

You should shut hibernation mode off all together so you dont get the useless files piling up!

According to WinDirStat it is 27 GB's.

Run WinDirStat and see what directory or directories are taking up all the space:

Ran it, but not so sure how to interpret the results. Could you give me some advice?

Hybernate? Thought that was only for bears in winter time...

You should shut hibernation mode off all together so you dont get the useless files piling up!

Ok, what is hybernate, what is its function, and how do i shut it down?
