Why after formatting computer i have less disk space

Recently i have bought a new computer with hard disk space 160 GB. After formatting computer i had 130 GB. (NTFS Formatting). Why did this happen???
Please assist......

Because manufacturers basically get to lie legally about the size of the disk. A formatted drive will always be smaller than what it says it is. I have 2 160gb drives right now and thats about the amount of space i got after formatting, its just one of those things you have to live with and factor into buying a drive.
