Default Essential Programs...

Running Windows XP, I use the following:

1. Visual C++ 6.0 Standard Edition

2. Bloodshed Dev C++ (totally free C++ IDE with a nice GUI interface. No DOS-Prompts here)

3. QBasic... (Hey, it's a classic )

1. Winamp v2.x

2. Windows Media Player (it's necessary every once in awhile, unfortunately...)

3. ModPlug Tracker/Player (creating and playing music in MOD, S3M, XM, and IT format)

CD-RW creation
1. Nero Burning ROM (Gotta have ISO Image capabilities)

1. Netscape 6.2

2. Sygate Personal Firewall (ADSL connection)

3. an IRC program of some sort (xChat is my favorite)

1. Tweak-XP

Those are my essentials...
