In Windows XP Pro, in what folder are the system registry files located (im looking for the ones for TCPIP)?

Go to start, run, type regedit. That's the registry.

Then go here

From the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following key:
\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tcpip

Well thats how you edit the registry values of each file, but im looking for the actual .reg files themselves. I want to know the folder in which they are located in the windows file system (ex: C:\WINDOWS\system32, etc.)

They will not be .reg files. The .reg files are only created when you export a part of the registry. With Windows XP the registry is not centrally located it will be freaking everywhere! A good portion of it though is in the C:\windows\system32\config folder. I dont think you can edit those files though. Only in regedit. Then of course you have the ntuser.dat file for each indivdual profile usually c:\documents and settings\user\ntuser.dat
