Default Where are my files?

My last computer crashed. I needed to replace it anyways so I bought all the parts to build a new one and configured my original HD as a slave HD.

Now I can't find the files that weren't saved under the C: drive. Specifically I had tons of MP3s and pictures in my My Documents folder and some other things still sitting on the desktop that I haven't been able to locate.

Were are these files now? Is there any way I can salvage them?

That means you had the files password protected and cant access them now. At least not to my knowledge. Your profile on that computer was under password protection i can guess. And since you no longer use that proflie it wont allow access to those files. I did that once long ago. I couldnt figure out a way past it so i learned to save all my files like that in a different folder so i couldnt get locked out of them again.

Send a message via AIM to Win2kpatcher

This is easy to bypass. You simply need to take ownership of the "password protected files". Refer to this Microsoft SKB for details http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp be sure first you disable simple file sharing if applicable as mentioned otherwise you will not see the SECURITY tab.
