I found out that with Pro, the computer has you manually turn it off with the power button. Is there a way to change it to where it powers off after shutting down like in Home edition?

Mine turns off when I click Shutdown, have no problems with that before.

Try this: Right click on your desktop, click new, shortcut, copy and paste this below, click next, then finish. Now click it and see what happens.

C:\Windows\ System32\Shutdown.exe -s

A lot of it depends on your motherboard or BIOS settings. Many older motherboards don't have the shutdown option when windows shuts dow.

But just to be sure, check in your BIOS for any option that relates to shutdown.

No, it can't be my motherboard, cause when I had Win 98, it shutdown by itself back then. It was when I got Pro. Also, When I put Pro on another computer, it lost that feature too, so I think it's part of XP Pro.
