Hello, new here. I wanted to play an older game (Rollercoaster tycoon) on XP, but when I try to install it, the error messages reads: "Could not set up registry entries." Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thank you

get a version of Rollercoaster tycoon that work on xp(there are lots of them). or right click the setup.exe or cd and select properties. look for compatibility mode

If it's a dos game, try DOSBox. It emulates dos pretty well. If not, you'll have to try the compatibility mode. If that doesn't work, you're out of luck. I had to toss 11th Hour because it didn't work with XP.

Thanks for your replies. I know few people who got this game to work with XP.
Instead, I think there is something wrong with my registry. When I download registry mechanic, it says some core files are missing. When I run Ashampoo WinOptimizer, it is able to find orphaned registry files but not delete it. Plus, the original problem of the error message, "Could not set up registry entries"....
