What is wrong with Explorer ?????

can some one tell me why Explorer will not close properly???

mine, my moms and a few others i know of have this problem.

I use Firefox but Explorer will freeze and will not close.
and has problems.
I am guessing there is a fix out there for this.

If someone could point me in the right direction please.

What did you mean? Maybe that is a sign to reinstall OS ?

Download hijackthis and post a log, then either Mak or myself will move it to the Spyware section. No reason to reinstall your OS

I never have issues with IE. It's probably due to spyware/virus. listen to Osirus, reinstallation is always a last resort.

I run nod32 and I have defender and spybot going and can not find anything.
I use firefox so it is just one of those things that from time to time I try to fix just cos I am anal about things that don't work right.
I will try what you guys suggest.

FF crashes on me way more than IE does... so does that mean I can say "its simply open source, that's why it has problems"? Not a valid argument now, is it .

What version of IE do you use? What about browser add-ons? Maybe one or more of them is gumming up the works.
