what is viewpoint manager?

So all of a sudden I am getting these boxes popping up on my screen saying I need to update viewpoint manager. I read the info on it and it states that it comes preinstalled on Sony Computers. I've had this sony for over 2 years now and it has just started this. what is it. can i just uninstall it? I am running XP with SP2 and have a cable connection to the internet.

check your scheduled tasks and see if it's in there. The above link is the actual product, but I can't give you an opinion on it. Don't have a sony. :-|
