What software compression program do you prefer?

I find myself using ZIP most of the time, but I prefer using RAR when I can.

i compress with rar usually or ace.....but i use winace. rar and ace beat any ratio that zip can provide hands down.
the interface for winace is easier to use than winrar too. (probably because it wasn't developed in the us  ) and the TOC page is great! but, even though rar and ace have close compression ratios to each other....they both totally kill the zip compression method!
it's funny though.... the software that i deal with uses pkzip!!!! anyone remember that?!?! hehehe!
in all reality....i can see why. it works and it's FULLY integreated into the application for backups and other DB compression..... who really wants to change 1000s of lines of code?!? not me!!!

but, in the end.....it's really up to the user.....use what suites ya.

There are three reasons why i don't prefer ZIP:

1. You can't double-compress a file

2. You can't compres a file\folder larger than 700mb. :(

3.YOU CANNOT SEGMENT FILES!!!!

I wish you would have included .sit in yow' list of compressing formats. You know; Stuffit Deluxe??
