Today I did a clean reinstall of XP and set it all up and what-not. Ran the updates and restarted. When the PC booted back up, the usual "Welcome" screen with users was replaced by the more network-like login for XP. And now my "My Computer" was replaced with "Matt on MATT-62AA5395A6". grrrrr
It looks like a typical LAN networked PC now. Even though it is totally non-networked. Any Ideas on fixing this?
**EDIT** Well I fixed the welcome screen through the User acounts in CP (duh!) but "My Computer" is still named "Matt on MATT-62AA5395A6". Still stumped on fixing this.
**EDIT** Ah, I fixed the My Computer thing. Now listen closely to the steps I used to fix it. I right clicked the icon of a silverish monitor and clicked "Rename". I then (*suspense*) typed in "My Computer (*crowd whoos*). Ugh, this is an embarrassment. I'm sorry. It's been a long day.
