Default What DVD program do you use

I am a complete newbie. I haven't encoded anything on DVD. I have .avi files to transfer to DVD so I can watch it on my TV.

What program do you use to do this? DVD Santa? And I need to convert .avi files to a different format?

Also, do I buy DVD+R or DVD-R? Thanks....

AVI2DVD <--- google it

most modern players can play both dvd-r and dvd+r, but to make sure just look on your player's manual (which you can probably find online) to see which format is supprted by your player.
