Default what does this mean about the BIOS!

i have found a reload disc for my computer it came with it when i bought it bu after reformatting the hard drive it comes up with this message.......... Unable to determine bios lock, please contact your suystem manufacturer. any ideas thank you!!

Can you access the Bios? Reset it all back to defaults. Make sure the the password protection is not active.

Ok thats what its supposed to say. You may need to reformat again.
It could very well be the disk you are using. Do you have any other full OS disks laying around?

Well, it acts as the middleman between the hard disk's internal controller and the rest of the system. As such, its less common name is the more accurate one: IDE/ATA interface controller. The controller (whatever its name) is what manages the flow of information over the IDE/ATA channels, allowing the hard disk to talk to the rest of the PC.

Is the disk you are using to reinstall the original disk that came with the machine?

thats the thing i didnt get a windows disc with my computer, its a copy!
