i recently bought a gateway GT5674 with vista and loaded windows XP professional. i had to hunt down the graphics card driver and now im trying to find the audio card driver but i cant even figure out what kind of card it is. the gateway website only has vista drivers for the cards in the computer.

Gateway Support.

the box lists this data about the audio card:

"8 channel (7.1) high definition"

the website lists this data:

D20251-001-001.exe (vista only) - Realtek HD Audio Driver version: 6.0.1.5506

the realtek website is not as user friendly as nvidia's was. all i had to do was click a button and it told me exactly what to download. the realtek.com website doesnt even have a "drivers" button on the main page. anyone have
any idea as to what driver i need and where i can download it???

my serial #: CC78451004541

Fixed,
I just downloaded the vista install file from gateway and it happened to be compatible to XP. sounds works! :D

i was afraid i9 would get an error like the vNvidia installer "Not compatible with xp blah.. blah.. blah.."

they are pretty much trying to bury XP and its users.
