Hey guys... my laptop is having some troubles. Every few boot ups, my laptop won't boot to the desktop. I type in my password and then it will sit at "Loading your personal settings" until I power it off. Other times, it will work just fine.

I had this problem before and I restored to factory condition and it worked fine for a week or two. Now, its starting it again.

Any suggestions?

don't remember processor, but its around 1.4ghz

512mb ram

I'm in the process of restoring it back to factory again. This time, I'm not going to syncronize my files between computers and see if that solves it.

Chances are; it's probably a spyware problem. That laptop should run Windows XP nicely without any lagging or stopping.

Install virus and spyware protection immediately once you reformat or repair. I have found laptops to be magnets for spyware/viruses.
