Having problems with IP addresses on VPN connection.

I'm trying to connect from a client in one network over the internet to a second network. The problem is that both internal networks have the same IP segment addresses.

Is there a way around this problem so I can connect to the remote network and still access the local network without the IP ranges interfering.

Working with Windows XP

What are the errors,, this is a pretty direct process to setup,, what is happening ??

Post up Mate !

cheers,

CrashAbbott thanks for the reply.

The problem is not an error!

The problem is that, when I check the box 'default gateway in external network' on the TCP/IP settings, I can reach the local network computers, shares etc. but I cannot reach the remote network server.

The IP address of the remote server is in the range of the local network segment.

When the check box is not checked, I can reach everything in the remote network, but local I have lost every contact with the network except the VPN connection over the proxy server.

I hope this gives some light on the problem.
