Default Volume Licensing for Windows XP Home

I had heard that you could install one copy of windows xp home on up to 5 pc's. Is this called Volume Licensing and is it free? It costs $35 to have this question answered by microsoft. Was just wondering if it is automatic or is it something I have to have provisioned or what?

Honestly you are not supposed to use your CD key on more than 1 computer but if you own multi computers I see no harm in using the same key just make sure it isn't for business reasons and you shouldn't get in trouble.

The rules are

1 CD key = 1 Computer

Yes you have to pay for any volume licence.
