Default Vista or Xp? computer noob needing help

first question is what are the known problems with vista?

which is better for gaming?

how much does xp cost nowadays/whats a good bargain deal for it?

is it worth gettn xp when vista should eventually be preferred for gaming?

what is difference between 32bit and 64 bit in vista?

ummmm vista basic or premium..which is better for gaming?
