I installed Vista SP1 32 bit on my desktop and it intalled on a raw hard drive (surprised it did not format the drive as it does with XP) and installed a few programs. But, and this is a big but, when I came to sign in to Windows Messenger an error panel was instantly displayed "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will re-start automatically in one minute" which it does over and over again and I cannot stop this and, in the end. wiped the drive and re-installed from scratch again. This has happened twice in exactly the same way. I wonder why?
The 64 bit version does not seem to have the same problem which is odd, to say the least.
