Hi, ive had problems with vista and RAM issues like many, although ive tried many things to solve the problems.

The PC is less than a year old with some good hardware in there, specs are as follows;

Motherboard: NVIDIA 780i 132-CK-NF78
CPU: Q9450 2.66ghz Quad Core
RAM: Curcial Ballistix 4gb 1066mhz
OS: Vista Home Premium 64bit

The first 6 months the PC was fine, perfect, no problems.
Then the OS kept locking up, after reformats the PC would work for a few months.
Then the same problem would happen, and now only a month after another format, the PC is locking up every now and then. Ive sent back the RAM to crucial and had replacements of 4x1gb.

Can anyone help?

thanks

the event viewer doesnt show any errors at all. Just shows a disruptive shutdown where i had to do it because nothing was responding.

my stability indexes have gone down from 9.5 after i formatted it, to 3.5, dont know if that helps.

using memtest i found no errors at all. Maybe its just an error that is occuring at a particular time and causing a crash?

when the problems started to occur again recently, i booted up my XP version 64 bit and it worked fine, then i loaded defaults in my bios, and changed the settings to;

1066mhz, 5-5-5-15 timings, 2V and then vista started to work again.

Also running 3gb of RAM instead of 4gb at 800mhz seems to make it work as well.
