Is there anyway around compatibility issues with Vista and circa DOS/Win 95 era games like Master of Orion 2?

It keeps freezing up on me, and won't install/run the game.

I'm on my laptop at work and not at home, so I can't try it out right now. Could you give me a brief overview of what this program does? I gathered by reading what you linked me that it somehow makes older games more compatible with Vista....

It's a DOS emulator that runs the older games in a DOS environment.
