Default VISTA Installing Programs

hi there i recently installed vista onto my pc ULTIMATE edition and most of it seems to be working fine
but when i come to install a game or anything the whole system just nearly crashes and takes about 10 - 15 mins to actually install the damm thing
im wondering if its a problem with the hard drive so i checked it on my external HDD and its the im guessing its vista? ive got 1GB RAM and the ram usage bar always says about 79% which is quite high is that anything to do with it?

your gonna need some better hardware at least. or you could try uninstalling any programs you don't use. then install your game on your c: drive. make sure you defrag.
