i try to compress some Simpsons Episodes with VirtualDub .and it showed error: no audio decompressor .....

the episodes i tried to compress is ~240mb ,avi file .
I compress before some Mpeg files and go fine..

No audio decompressor means you do not have the avi's audio codec installed.

Use VDub to find the audio info from>FILE>FILE INFORMATION (or use AVICodec or GSpot) then install the relevant codec (Ogg Vorbis or AC3 perhaps?).

Well you either have or haven't.

What does GSpot say? Use AVICodec or GSpot to see if it can find the relevant audio codec...VDUb does not do this (it only gives the info of the file).

Also what is the original video format (avi or mpeg)?

And finally which VirtualDub are you using?
