Yup, you read it right, Microsoft has freely released Virtual PC 2004 with SP1

so this allows us to install more than 1 operating system and allows us to run them at the same time? but y would we need more than 1 operating system?

sorry, didnt see it, anyway, now since MS released vitual server free, and vmware released vmware server free(which btw today had its final release) im hoping vmware will release a cross between vmware player and workstation freely(or maybe even workstation free) so users can have more workstation features.

thats on you. it will slow your pc down unless you got atleast a gig of ram because each vitual os will need memory allocated to it, the default for vm ware is 256 I beleive and if you make 3 or 4 and try to run them all at the same time, you will see a big decrease in performance. so 1 may be fine for you but if you dont plan on doing anything i mentioned above, then you dont need it
