Virtual Machine Software?

Hello everyone.

I run virtual machines on my PC for leisure/learning/generic purposes. Nothing serious. Up until now I had been using Microsoft VPC 2007 Sp1. But I have often seen other software choices like virtualbox and VMware getting some pretty good reviews.

What Virtual PC software do you recommend and why?

Thank you for your time.

I like and use both VirtualBox and VMWare Player. Both are free and support more guest OSes than does MS VPC since VPC only supports MS OSes. Just because an OS isn't supported doesn't mean it won't work but it means it hasn't been tested and MS won't help you to make it work. The documentation for both VB and VMWP provide info regarding how to install many different OSes.

Personally, I've really only dealt with VMWare (mostly cause of free licenses of Workstation from school). I've dealt with Oracle's a bit, but only seldom.
