Default Video file

I have a video file that ends in the extension .avi but I am unable to view it. What media player do I need to view it. I've tried the latest version of real player but it doesn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

U have two options. Firstly u may convert the file to a different file format using a decoder. The second way is u will have to obtain the codec for the avi file. Read this for proper info.
