Default Video Conversion Softwares?

What is the best commercial and free software available out there? Overall I love Super. I want to widen my horizons so let me know if you know any better softwares out there.

Example: Converting avi movies to ipod format, ipod format to dvd format, wmv to mov or to youtube format etc..

Super is one of the best free ones. Nero is also good.

Check your other thread. I gave several good apps i there. Virtual Dub, AutoGK, among others out there. I personally have never used Super and have created over 300 DVD's already. So i have to be doing something right.

VirtualDub doesn't have many conversion features I didn't think...Some good commercial programs are Pinnacle Studio and Sony Vegas (used to be Screenblast) Movie Studio. I have Pinnacle 9 Plus and Screenblast 3, and both have conversion to almost anything as well as editing. The downside is that they can be expensive, but they're full video-editing programs with advanced features.

Stoik has a good freeware conversion program that will batch convert files without any editing. STOIK Video Converter 2.0

They also have a decent non-linear editor for around $39 called videoman.

Winavi is good and fast. Nero is good and high quality. Super is good but slow.
