very strange image problem

I have a problem here on 1 system that is very strange. I have both IE and Firefox running. Some images on pages won't show up. If I look at the source the html for those images isn't there. This is happening with just about any site. It seems to be happening with any image format. Usually it's just 1 image per page. I'm running xp sp2 with etrust 2005, zone alarm pro and windows firewall off. Cookies are on but that shouldn't matter since this is happening with none cookied sites. If I put the missing image onto a different part of the page both will show.
I'm not getting the red x saying the image is broken.

Any help with would be great.

I had the same problem. I forgot that I had set Firefox to block remote images, which a lot of sites use to save bandwidth. Use this page to troubleshoot your Firefox image settings: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=288184

thanks for the post. i'll give this a try but i'm not sure this fix this as it's browser wide-spread. ie, netscape and firefox.. this is the strangest thing i have seen since ashley simpson singing
