Very Slow Bootup / Weird Things Happening

PLEASE HELO!!

Boot up is very slow. and crashes are continually occurring.

This occurred after using the WinStyles trial program. I have since uninstalled this program. Also, I used Update Cleanup program to rid of old Update/Hotfixe backup files (not the patches themselves). However, this slow startup was happening prior to this. I also tried to stop the services that included error reporting but have since put the services back to the Windows default. I personally do not want the error processing to run.

Now, when I boot up, my Norton "hangs." It is displayed as processing in the Task Manager, but I am unable to manually open the program.

New things that are happening in startup and/or process list: NMain.exe, Adobe Gamma Launcher, CTF loader, Windows Service Register, Calibration Manager, Symantec Event Manager, Application-level gateway, Client Server Runtime.

I also used Norton's GOBack service to create a Virtual Drive on E: , which I have not deleted yet.

i think norton is the problem. everybody on here will tell you the same thing. try a different antivirus, there are tons of freebies.

go to msconfig, >startup and disable everything but your av and reboot
