I recently installed a fresh install of vista ultimate an for some reason every time i place my usb flash drive into the system the light on it flickers like crazy and the mouse cursor like the hourglass flickers also as if something is loading an i checked in the task manager an the verclsid.exe process keeps popping up on off until the flash drive is unplugged an when it is pulled out the process disappears along with the mouse cursor flashes

That is the Verify ClassID process. Oddly most of the problems stem from XP and before. There are no reports of this happening in Vista.

Is there anyway you can use another machine and format the drive and then use it? Or do you have information on the drive that you are trying to get onto the Vista machine?

It is possible for me to format it on another machine, i will when i get the opportunity and post if it fixes the problem
