Default Used Hard Drive Space Doesn't Add Up

Hi,

I noticed an odd problem with WIN2K and I'm wondering if it means there's spyware on my system.

The "Used Space" byte figure reported when I right click the hard drive does not equal the total file size figure when I select all files, including system files. There's a difference of about 64 megabytes.

Does anyone know why? Is it some sort of hidden system files that the user interface can't even see, or do I have other problems?

It's not spyware. There are some files that can not be accessed through Windows that are on the hard drive.

What are they and why do they fluctuate in size?

They are files that are in Windows, but aren't accessible.
