Default Upgrading to Microsoft Vista

My Company has about 50 desktops, 30 XP Pro and 20 2k Pro. Upgrading our users computer is a big issue at the moment, and with Windows Vista out, the major topics are:

1) Should we upgrade all our computers to Vista?

2) Should we upgrade all our computers to XP Pro?

3) Since Vista is out, would the cost of XP Pro go down?

4) Would upgrading to XP Pro be a waste of time since support for XP
has reportedly stop?

5) What are the pros and cons of Vista?

These are the issues im facing and I'm wonder if any of you are facing the same. Its an interesting topic, lets discuss :-)

1) Should we upgrade all our computers to Vista?

- you have not seen Vista yet , you may not like it that much ...

2) Should we upgrade all our computers to XP Pro?

- well that depends on your needs, if you have Networking you may use Pro as best option.

since many Software dose not work on Vista , so you will be in need to buy new Antivirus Software and other softwares that is compatible with windows vista ... as well you may need to get new device drives update ... that is not been released yet by the your hardware manufacture

3) Since Vista is out, would the cost of XP Pro go down?

- for sure

4) Would upgrading to XP Pro be a waste of time since support for XP
has reportedly stop?

- no , Microsoft will keep Supporting windows xp for at lest the coming 3 -5 years

5) What are the pros and cons of Vista?

- well that is good question

well have nice fancy GUI

more security instalments and much faster that XP

i advice you to visit MS website and read about Vista for that

Depends. It will cost alot when it's released (its in RC2 stage now). But it's very visually attractive if you have the right desktop (2.5Ghz, 1GB RAM).

2) Should we upgrade all our computers to XP Pro?

Yes. Windows XP Pro is pretty cheap now, as it's old and only SP2 is getting updates.

3) Since Vista is out, would the cost of XP Pro go down?

It's going down slowly

4) Would upgrading to XP Pro be a waste of time since support for XP

Windows XP support isn't going away until 2008.

5) What are the pros and cons of Vista?

PROS: Visually attractive, easy to use, new...
CONS: Pricey, resource hog (Takes 500MB out of my 1.2GB RAM).
