So I've tried several times to get this to work, upgrading XP Home to Pro on my homebuilt computer (250 gigs, 2 gb ram, 3.2 ghz P4) and at the 34 minute mark, when devices are being installed, it stops installing. The icons still animate and all, but nothing continues. I don't really want to go with a clean install if I don't have to, 'cause I wanna keep my stuff. I would be open to the two options of getting rid of the setup files, so I don't upgrade at all, or following through with the install, finding out how to get it past this 34 minute mark. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks in advance guys.

During installation..this usually indicates a set of bad RAM or CD/DVD drive. Could be a hard drive issue also.
Oh..and a lot of other things, hardware related usually. You might want to try and install using just the bare bone minimum. Take out any unnecessary hardware. You can always install them later one by one.
