Update windows 98 with Second edition

Hi Guys i want to update my windows 98 with sec edition is this possible without formatting or losing any files

Yes. SE has a lot of fixes, etc. a big one being vastly improved support for USB devices.
As Microbell stated, it would be better overall to back up everything and do a format and clean install.
