Unsupported video configuration

I have a Dell Optiplex 7010, Windows 7, with two graphics cards supporting DVI and DisplayPort. It also has two more DisplayPort ports. I tried connecting another monitor into one of the DisplayPort connectors on the PC, and got the following message:

********************************************************

"Attention: Unsuported Video Configuration Detected.

Action is required

This computer has an add-in graphics card, but the monitor cable is plugged into the integrated video connector. "

********************************************************

While I can use up to four monitors using the graphics cards, I want to run six.

Any ideas, short of replacing the graphics cards?

Thanks,

Scott

You can't plug connectors into both the onboard/dedicated GPU.

You'll either need to replace the card with one that can handle more outputs, add another GPU, or look into USB Video converter for simple graphics.

What are you wanting to do with the extra monitors? Just use them for day-to-day things, play PC games, run rendering software, or what?

I'm setting up a workstation for a dispatcher. He uses four screens, but saw the extra ports and wanted six. He'll have to make do with four, for the moment. :D
