Uninstall media center

I know this is odd but I was wanting to know if you can uninstall media center from windows xp media center edtion? You see I will never use it and I just want my pc to run at top notch. Will uninstalling it cause it to perform slower? Or perhaps it will be almost like xp pro after media cetner is gone?

i suggest against trying to uninstall media center. other than any media center services (like the one that records the tv shows), media center won't affect your system's performance.

exactly. because mce is a resource hog, people think it slow up your computer when it is not in use. wrong. just don't use it ,
