does anyone know why I cannot shrink my partition in Vista? Half of it is free, meaning the drive is not full. But when I go to shrink it, it tells me theres 0 MB left to shrink!

What size is the drive in the first place? I know that Vista requires at least a 20GB drive.

Do you have all 80 GB for Vista and are trying to shrink it down? Or is it that you have the 16GB made for Vista and are trying to shrink that down?

If you are trying to shrink down the 16GB that you have made for Vista it wont work. Vista wont allow it as it needs all that space.

the thing is Vista doesn't take up 16gb as it says so, it only takes up like 11 gb.

i have 4 gb space left and i want to shrink a bit of it.

No only 16gb for vista, actually its more like 18.

As i said Vista requires that space. It wont allow for that space to be shrunk for any other purpose. You will have to use Partition Magic or another application like that.

Plus Vista is most likely using that space since it does use a page file which takes up space but isnt shown.
