This is an error on a friend of mines computer, he runs on XP

he gets an error like this

Unable to Load Gamma Ramp - Please try some other combination

Does anyone have a solution to this at all? If so what would the best way to correct it without a re-installation of his system.

Thanks

I have never heard of this error in Windows. Even searching Microsoft.com there is no information about this error.

So you really only have 2 choices.

Restore Point or Repair install.

any information on what is producing this error? like what he is doing when it occurs?

I believe its after startup, he has been getting it ever since his system packed up and he has reinstalled.

Apologies to Moderators for this double post.

Thank you for your help, although I might have thought this as a Hardware issue any thoughts on that?

In the mean time I will pass that information onto my friend.

If it was a hardware issue then your best option is to try and pin pint which piece of hardware it is. Remove all but the PSU, CPU, RAM and Hard Drive and see if the setup works. From there add the parts back 1 by 1 to find the problem piece.

If you still get this error then it could be RAM or mobo.

As i said i have never seen that error before in my 15+ years. So it is something odd.
