So I'm trying to Upgrade to Vista 64-bit. And I booted from the DVD Drive, hit install now, and I got an error message saying "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
I recently built this computer and originally installed Windows XP because I wanted to upgrade directly to Vista 64-bit rather than installing Vista 32-bit first.
This morning I was trying to back up some files before installing Vista, and I noticed that I was not able to burn DVDs. I dont have the DVD disk so I went to the Asus website to look for new drivers and there were no new drivers available. I am re-using the same Asus DRW 1608PS3 from my last computer and it worked just fine on there. It will burn CDs but not DVDs.
Any ideas what I should do?
Edit: Not sure if it makes a difference, but Ive been using the 32-bit version of XP.
