Trying to open

a new game just installed:

"The Version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I've tried changing the compatibility, but it didn't help. I have Vista 64 bit.

Who is the genius around here?

Have you checked the game's website to see if there's an available patch?

By changing the compatibility you mean that it is running in windows XP compatibility mode correct? Also make sure you are running the program as administrator in Vista.

Go there and see if you are capable of running the game. Sounds as if you have a x86 version of the game on a x64 OS.
