Trouble with XP installation!

I'm having a lot of difficulties with Vista (such as freezing, constant lag, etc), so I was looking to install Windows XP to replace it. I have an XP installation, but whenever I try to install it, I'm given this error.

Can anybody help me out please?

Do you have a Windows XP installation disk? I don't really know what you're doing, unless that screenshot is of Vista with the Classic theme applied. In that case, what you're doing won't work. You'll have to do a fresh install (booting from the disk to install)

You can't downgrade to a previous OS.

You'll need to boot from the XP install CD and use the option to format the partition that Vista is installed in to be able to install XP.
