is that umbuntu? I think I might try that out. does it require a special theme installed to do that? where might I get umbuntu and the theme for it?

I have pclinuxos and if you want transparencey, this does an ok job of it. the problem is that it uses more of a screenshot of the desktop, which causes to not seem like as much depth because you cant see other windows behind it, but it is much nicer and faster than windows.

and it can run on almost any computer. like a windows 98 computer might be able to do it.

You just need XGL/AIGLX or the new nvidia drivers and install Beryl, then get the theme from gnome-look.org and ... well yeah, if you have no experience with Ubuntu (no umbuntu ) then it will be a big misadventure, most likely.
