Took ownership of HD w/ other PC, now I boot to it from original to a generic user?

My motherboard went out on this PC awhile back and in order to back up some files I took ownership of the HD and copied them over. Well, I got the PC back up and running again but it now boots to a default account, like a fresh installation of XP. However, the original user file still exists under documents and settings, and I've now taken ownership of it again, but I don't know how to switch my profile from this one it made, back to the other. I went under User Profiles but it does not give me the option to switch to my original profile. How can I do this?

Create a new user profile and import that data over.
