I want to be able to lock certain files/folders in windows xp pro, so my friends and such can't get into them, is there a program that will let me use a password to protect them?

Many thanks, Carl

XP does this for you.
Right click the folder, hit properties.

Now at the bottom, check hidden
this file cannot be found now. Unless you go to: tools -> options -> view (the tab) -> and click show hidden files

now for the password:
right click the folder -> go to sharing (tab) -> then checkmark make private -> it should then ask you to make a password for this file.

I compress them with winrar. then I password protect it. I then delete the original file. When I put the paasword in the compressed file I can now see the file in winrar

Are you talking about if someone else is under your account? That's a whole nother idea..
