Man - what a weekend! A variant "Blaster" virus messed up my Windows XP Pro operating system. I don't want to do an "install" just yet.
I get a "TCP/IP not installed" message.
Then when I select MY COMPUTER...PROPERTIES I get:
"RUNDLL32.exe entry point not found - the procedure entry point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll"
Then when I want to load security patches from Symantec or Microsoft, I can't find the "System Restore" Tab on System Properties (to turn it off long enough for loading the patches without worrying that "Sytem Restore" is duplicating the virus),
so, I need to figure out how to toggle the default Administrator problem (it isn't a logon or password glitch - it was set up NOT to require those things).
I can't even begin to clean up this mess. Any ideas? Tim
